Thanks for Katie’s connection, we have an other local friend-Teresa, who comes from Ningxia, based in Shanghai now.  Ningxia locate in the north west of china map, connect east and west, also the entrance of 阿拉善 green desert. Please read the info updated by Teresa as follows.

Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region (Ningxia for short),is one of smallest provinces in china, covering an area of 51,800 square kilometers,and capital city is Yinchuan.Ningxia is located in the “Silk Road”,it is an important east-west traffic and trade route of history, as the Yellow River flows through the region, where the same old ancient civilization of the Yellow River.

Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, whch have more than 3000 mosques and the Hui population one-third of the total population,is China’s Muslim province.

Location: Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, located in northwest China (latitude 35 ° 14′ —- 39 ° 23 ‘and east longitude 104 ° 17′ — 107 ° 39′), located in Yellow River upstream, is one of China’s five minority autonomous regions. The east of Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, north, south and Gansu connected.
