China Travel 2.0

We have not went out for a trip for a long time. the kids is the main reason. It is quite different work as Chinese parents as western parents. We tried to go for climbing a wild mountain with little Paul （小可, his Chinese nick name, means little cute）when he was 1.5 years old. But we were warned by lots of friends and our parents. Although we believe 小可 will be fine for a 秦岭 trip in May 2007. We gave up finally. Then little Ryan(小哥,his Chinese nick name, means little brother) was born. It is more difficult for a trip bring with 2 babies. Time passed. almost 5 year, we didn’t go out as before. Of course, we will come back to her hometown twice a year, but that is not called a tour.
We will make it this time. by all means. The kids are in the good state now, and we have enough time. the problem is simple now. where will we go?

actually, we have several options.
1st, the Qinghai 青海 friends visiting tour
2nd, the Xuanhua 宣化 a temple constructing tour
3rd, the Shangri-la 中甸（香格里拉） eco-tour

Qinghai-Friends visiting tour

I have been to Qinghai for several times after the 1st visiting in 1997 with 3 friends from HongKong. We made a good excuse for the tour-Celebrate the Hongkong’s back, march to the source of Yangtze river. No doubt, we were touched by the beautiful grassland and pure air and the blue sky. in the following year, I made others excuses to goto Qinghai, not only for the beautiful scenery, but also for some friends there. the Wild Yak Team and the Green Hope schools. I think it is a good chance for Qinghai this time. I heard the 索南达杰纪念碑(Suonandajie Monument) will rebuild this Sep. the former wild yak team who protected the Tibetan antelope invited us for it, we will see if we can make it this trip. Do you think it is good taking my kids to the high land about 4700 meter’s high?

Xuanhua-a temple constructing tour

I bet most people who been to Xuanhua or Qingbiankou(宣化青边口) know the 3 periods of GreatWall. but how many of you know the temple in the mountain? Lirong 李荣, one of the local farmer, is going to rebuild the temple. The legend tells that the Kublai Khan, Yuan dynasty’s first emperor buried in there, because it is a great Fengshui 风水 place. During some special days, lots of local people gather in the temple and prey for a good harvest festival. Anyway, it will be a great trip to Qingbiankou for some labouring in the construction of the temple. It is well known that this kind of behavior will give us good karma.

Shangri-la 中甸（香格里拉） eco-tour

Eco-tour, 生态旅游 in Chinese, is one of the hot topics in china now days. Every body are talking about it, only few and few people know the real meaning about it. At the same time I bet most of the people are doing a green tour, but not an eco one. Mr. Fan Mingxiao is one of the pioneers who did some research on the eco-tour in China, the Shangri-la is one of his products after years of investigate and research. He now set up an office in Lijiang for welcoming the tourists who would like to try the eco-tour to Shangri-la. He is my friend, of course, he will give us the best experience to Shangri-la if we like to go.

Only special tours. but which one will we take? no worry, I will keep post about this tour.
