② Then visit the Bund on Shanghai’s waterfront and Pudong New Area, the symbol of old and new Shanghai. This part finishes at about 11:30.
③ Before having lunch (12:00 am), you will have 45 minutes for a short visit of fresh water pearl gallery. Here we will see the process of pearl cultivation. Or visit Silk Factory, which is not only an interesting place to see how Chinese silk has been produced since 14th century, but also a desirable site to purchase it for a low price.
④ After lunch, driving to People’s Square and Shanghai Urban Planning Center.
⑤ Visit the former French Concession, characterized by beautiful, tree-lined streets and weathered European architecture. And in Shanghai’s hottest new entertainment area, Xintiandi. B. Day excursion to Suzhou & Zhouzhuang
① Pick up at your hotel between 7:30am and 8:00am, and then driving to Suzhou. Suzhou is one of the oldest towns in the Yangtze basin, founded in about 600 BC. With its interconnected waterways and beautiful environment, the city is often referred to as “The Venice of the East.” Suzhou was one of the few cities in China to escape the ravages of the cultural revolution and its famous gardens survived almost completely intact.
② Upon arrival in Suzhou, the first stop is Net Master Garden, the best and most celebrated as a model Ming Dynasty Garden in all of Suzhou. Then it’s on to view the Ancient City Gate and Grand Canal and a tour of a silk spinning factory to see how Chinese silk has been produced since the 14the century.
③ After lunch visit the water town of Zhouzhuang and board a Chinese-style gondola to cruise the waterways of the city.
④ Transferred back to your hotels.

If you have Firefox installed for browsing the internet, you can get an extension add-on called “Chinese Pera-kun” to help you with reading Chinese text on websites. It will show English and pinyin translations in a popup box as you move your mouse cursor over each of the Chinese characters. It’s not a perfect translation tool as you will still need to decypher the grammar etc but it may assist you if you are trying to find certain things on the website(s).
thanks for the tips. i thought it is useful for the readers outside China to read Chinese sites.
