Nanluoguxiang is popular and popular day by day from late 2006. From the 1st restaruant(Passby bar) opened in 1999, now there are more than 200 bars and cafes and restaurants and shops and hotels in the Hutong. There are lots of passerbys from Friday till Sunday night. But nobody can tell every one of she shops can make a good money. Unfortunately, many shops change their owner every year. Because the former owner cant make enough money for the invest in the past 1 or 2 years running. who knows the new owner can make it. Yeah,this is the real Nanluoguxiang, you can see lots of customers walking in the Hutong, but most of them just pass by without buying anything. Going to and walking in the Nanluoguxiang is fashion. nobody tell they must buy something.
But there are some different. I’d like to tell a small place,but a great place for cheese and 卤肉饭Lu Rou Fan(a kind of typical Taiwan rice food) in Ju’er Hutong, just 80 meters from the North entrance of Nanluoguxiang. They will not change the owner at all. because the owner is the landlord. Yeah, they run the restaurant by themselves. Ayi Han was a worker before, but as other workers in Beijing, she lost her job in the early 2000’s. But Ayi Han dont just stay at home and do nothing. what makes she different is that she can cook. and cook very well.
Actually,it was a recreation room for Majiang and playing card before, but Ayi Han dreamd she can run a small restaurant someday, step by step, she began make the 双皮奶Shuang Pi Nai(A kind of Cheese, popuar in Beijing and Nanluoguxiang) for the guests, after the many good comments by the clinets, she has the enought courage now, From the last Nov, they began serve the 卤肉饭. Now the recreation room became a warm and small restaurant. But Ayi Han said she can only make 20 set of 卤肉饭 a day. Otherwise she will feel tired. That is not what she really need.

双皮奶: they can serve warm 双皮奶 in the winter, the cool one in the summer.

卤肉饭:Pork sauce and an Tea egg, a bowl of soup, some pickles

tips: the 双皮奶:8 rmb a bowl. 卤肉饭: 18 rmb a set. there are only 10 seats in the room. Only 20 set of 卤肉饭 a day.

Language:Ayi Han cant speak English, but her lovely daughter can. but you can learn the local Beijing Hua from Ayi Han. She is a native Beijingner.

The cheese isn’t really cheese like western country, it’s very popular in young people in Beijing. Now, to nanluoguxiang to eat “cheese” is a fashion.
