One of my friends works in a big company, or Danwei 单位 in Chinese.

He told me some info about the donation. as follows.Yesterday, my boss told us ready to donate for Sichuan disaster.Today, he collected the money. Everyone donated.  Our company, china Architecture Design & Research Group (CAG) is a large high-tech state owned enterprise grouped in April 2000. The famous National Stadium designed by our company. But I am in a small department, named Water and Wastewater Engineering Periodical board. The biggest magazine in the water and wastewater treatment field in China. My boss is the chief editor of WWE.There are 14 people in my office.
All the donation will transfer to The Committee for State Owned Enterprises (our company is the member of it.) then the Committee will transfer the money to the local government. The donation is different with the Red Cross and the other kind of donation. That means the disaster zone will receive the donation from all sphere of the society.
The danweis took action,the local Juweihuis also took action immediately.
